Cheap Trick ‘Rockford’ (Day 3 in my player)
I spent most of my weeknights in bars last week because the Southern Baptist Convention was in Greensboro. I figured there would be lots of wild and crazy Baptist women from all over the country gathered in Greensboro for the convention. So why not hit the bars and find these wanton women cutting loose during the convention?
If television has taught me anything, it’s that anything goes when you’re at a convention. So I thought my chances were good to find a woman loosening up her Bible belt to put another notch in it.
I was sadly mistaken… I didn’t find any loose, drunk, or wanton Baptist women lurking in the bars of Greensboro.
Once again, television and movies have led me astray.
As I write this, Sidney (Kristina’s cat) has decided to lie down on the desk from which I write this from. She’s come a long way, baby. I’m thinking about purchasing some Virginia Slims for her to celebrate.
Sidney has opened up to me quite a bit. She exposing her belly to me which is something that my own cat, Monroe, doesn’t do. If you’re not a “cat person”… When they expose their bellies it means that they trust you.
She’s a very sweet cat and she’s also managed to spend a little time on my lap too. We are getting along swimmingly.
During game 6 between the Oilers and ‘Canes, I needed a snack. And according to what I’ve been doing diet wise, I could only eat vegetables. So I opened up a can of asparagus and ate those babies during the 3rd period.
I never realized that asparagus was so good! It’s probably the meatiest vegetable out there. I’ve had it canned and I’ve had it grilled. Either way is A-Okay to me!
I’m even thinking about making my own casserole consisting of asparagus. How’s that for a shocker?
I’m thinking that it would work pretty well with cheese and lasagna noodles. I may have to work on that one.
And by the way, the Pat Benatar show last Friday night got a good review from Parke Puterbaugh in the Greensboro News & Record. Parke, as usual, was on the mark.
I know that this is a short entry, but what do you want on a Sunday? Or for that matter, on Father’s Day.
